The Artist
Saskatchewan-born, she has drawn, painted and worked in many mediums since childhood. Linda Rea's artistic talents include an award winning commercial design background, as well as watercolor, printmaking, stained glass, jewelry design and paper collage. She has had a showing of her handmade paper pieces at a local gallery and has participated in numerous group shows.
Linda took a basic fused glass class in 2004 and she fell in love with this medium.
After much experimentation, and a 5 day workshop with glass expert Bob Leatherbarrow, she is now producing gallery level work.
Traditions Gallery in Regina held a successful show of Linda’s glass pieces in 2008.
Linda recently had her work juried and was awarded the title of "Professional Craftsman" with the Saskatchewan Craft Council.
In early June 2010, Linda traveled to San Antonio, Texas, for a 4 day workshop with glass artist Roger V. Thomas, who is known for his painterly style of working with glass. |
